Free Entrance Dates 2019
On five days in 2019, all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone. Mark your calendar for these entrance fee–free dates in 2019:
- January 21: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
- April 20: First day of National Park Week
- August 25: National Park Service Birthday
- September 28: National Public Lands Day
- November 11: Veterans Day
Note: The entrance fee waiver for fee-free days only applies to entrance fees. It does not apply to amenity or user fees for activities such as camping fees, boating fees, or special tours.
Can't Visit for Free?
If you can't schedule a visit during a free day, consider the next best thing: an annual $80 America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass allows unlimited entrance to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including all national parks that normally charge an entrance fee. There are also free or discounted passes available for senior citizens, current members of the military, families of fourth-grade students, and disabled citizens.
